Hello! I’ve just finished my undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Northumberland University, sponsored by the Royal Air Force (RAF) through their Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme. I will be continuing my studies with an MSc in Computer Game Engineering at Newcastle University, again supported by the RAF, to look at how games can improve training for recruits.
I have gained my first class, leading, senior, master and instructor cadet qualifications, a bronze Duke of Edinburgh award, completed my JNCO course with distinction, and my weapons handling tests on the No. 8 rifle and the L.98 A2. My time with the RAF so far has given me skills including motivation, both self and motivating others, collaboration, project management, and problem-solving.
My hard work has been rewarded through a series of scholarships, which have supported me through education since year 9. At St. Dominic's High School for Girls, Brewood I secured 12 GCSEs, 1 A*, 9 A, and 2 B, before taking my A-Levels at Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College. I have always loved horse-riding, but have been involved in many other sports, representing my school, squadron, and university.
I regularly lead and inspire our students in exercise, promoting a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy planning activities to give our students new experiences, and often take a hands-on role of ‘big sister’ supporting and encouraging them.
